Non-Credit Micro-Credentials

For-Credit University Courses
Want to take a UO course, but not seeking a degree? Whether you’re looking for professional skills or intellectual enrichment, University of Oregon gives you access to in-person and online university courses without UO enrollment as a Non-Degree Seeking Student. Register for a limited number of classes per term and earn credit.
Save Your Credits. The credits you earn will appear on a UO transcript. If you change your mind later and decide to enroll, your credits (with some limits) can apply to a degree.
Look for Flexibility. Some online classes are asynchronous, giving you the option to fit coursework around your work schedule.
Access Academic Resources. As a non-degree-seeking student, you’ll have access to key UO resources, including academic advising, tutoring, coaching, study groups, and accessibility support.

Continuing Education Seminars
Continuing Education Seminars are four-week classes designed for intellectually adventurous adults who want to tackle college-level topics in a discussion-based format. Taught by Oregon professors and offered at the UO Baker Downtown Center in Eugene, these noncredit courses offer academic rigor without grades or credits.
Members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute enjoy reduced fees for Continuing Education Seminars.
Options for Mature Adults
Whether it’s a four-week Continuing Education Seminar, a quarter-long course, or membership in Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Oregon offers a dynamic intellectual experience for older learners.
Audit Courses for Free
Oregon residents age 65 or older can audit select UO undergraduate and graduate classes at no charge, pending availability and department approval.
OLLI-UO
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is a vibrant nationwide community of members aged 50 and older. In partnership with the university, OLLI-UO offers a wide range of courses, social outings, and travel opportunities. Activities take place at locations in Eugene, Bend, and Portland, and occasionally on Zoom.
