Clark Honors College courses are designed to complement your major courses with interdisciplinary, topic-driven classes that replace the UO general education requirements. Classes are small and discussion-based, so you can ask questions, explore ideas, and collaborate with supportive professors and peers from across campus who become lasting mentors and friends.
CHC offers specialized courses including an honors thesis project series to guide your research and connect you with thesis advisors, and a professional series to explore common career paths and engage with alumni in your field.
No minimum requirements, test scores optional—we thoroughly review each applicant to bring bright, thoughtful, and motivated students into our diverse academic community. To apply to the CHC, simply write a supplemental essay and submit it with your UO application.
Every CHC student completes a unique thesis project where they become an expert on a topic and ask questions, develop research skills, and practice communicating complex ideas, with support from faculty mentors and coursework.
CHC students have opportunities for hands-on research and access to specialized seminars and programs, including professional pathways in law, management, and medicine with guaranteed admission into partnered graduate programs. New courses teach students how to network by pairing them with CHC alumni mentors.
