Pick Your Global Experience
Excited to explore the world? You can choose a faculty-led program, land at one of our five GEO Centers, enroll in an exchange at a foreign university, or immerse yourself in an internship abroad.

Faculty-Led Programs
Want to dive deeper into your area of study by experiencing a new part of the world? When you travel abroad on a program led by a UO faculty member who’s an expert in the field, you’ll have a structured experience to help you navigate a new culture. Expect a thoughtful itinerary with group excursions and time to focus on coursework. Programs vary in length from two weeks to a full term, and many are designed to meet major or minor requirements.

University Exchanges
Are you an independent type who likes to dive into the unknown? University exchange programs let you spend a semester or a full year abroad to fully immerse yourself in a new culture. Design your own experience, register for courses, learn a new language, and make friends with local students. The UO has partnerships with more than 45 universities around the world, so you can follow your interest wherever it takes you.

Global Internships
Oregon’s GlobalWorks program connects you with an internship abroad in one of 29 countries on five continents. You’ll gain professional experience at a small company or start-up that’s aligned with your major while you learn to adapt to a new culture—and earn academic credits while you’re there.

Go Global Sooner
Are you a newly enrolled Duck? Earn UO credits over the summer before your first fall term by signing up for one of four academic programs in London, Costa Rica, or Siena, Italy. You’ll meet other Ducks and get a head start on the UO experience.

My time abroad gave me a broader understanding of the world, and also of myself—what I value, what excites me, and what I want my future to look like. I came home with a clearer sense of direction and a deeper curiosity about the world.

Funding Your Adventure
With more than 400 scholarships and over $700,000 awarded annually for study abroad and internships, your global goals are within reach. You can even combine multiple awards and apply your existing UO financial aid to help make your experience abroad possible.
