These pages cover how the UO reviews applications, self-reported transcripts, departmental deadlines, residency, and legal data.

What is STARS?

You must self-report high school coursework before we review your application.

STARS is the Self-reported Transcript and Academic Record System. Report all coursework you completed in high school (secondary school).

Common Application

If you apply via the Common Application, type the required information in the Courses and Grades section of the application.

Oregon Application

If you apply via the Oregon Application, you will receive a link to a STARS login after you submit your application.

Do not enter grades or coursework from memory. Have a copy of your transcript when you complete this section. An unofficial copy often has all the information you need. You can get a copy from your school counselor or registrar.

The information you provide on STARS is used to review your application for admission and to consider you for scholarships. It must be accurate and match your high school transcript.

EasyImport

EasyImport is an optional tool that fills the record from an uploaded transcript.

If you use EasyImport, upload a transcript and the tool will populate your self-reported record. Double-check every field for accuracy before you submit an AI-generated STARS.

If you prefer EasyImport and are applying through the Common Application, answer “no” in the Courses and Grades section to “I can access a copy of my transcript(s) or official grades.” After we receive your application, you will get a link in your UO application portal to submit a STARS.

To Finalize Enrollment

STARS is not the official transcript.

  • You must provide a final official high school transcript to the Office of Admissions before you enroll.
  • If you attended multiple high schools, you must provide an official transcript that shows all coursework. If information is omitted or changed on the current institution’s transcript, provide an official transcript from every school you attended.
  • If information on the final official high school transcript differs from the information you provided on STARS, your admission and scholarship offer could be revoked.

How to Access STARS

After you apply, open the application status portal.

Log into connect.uoregon.edu/status and click the hyperlinked Self-Reported Transcript and Academic Record under Application Checklist. STARS is most compatible with Google Chrome.
