Just an hour away, the Oregon Coast is yours to explore. What to try first? Sandboard 500-foot dunes. Hike to waterfalls. Go horseback riding. Watch for whales. There's always more to do, but don't stress. Living so close to the coast, you can always come back.

Playful and offbeat, Portland—less than two hours away—is your go-to culture trip. Start in the Pearl District, a walkable area filled with galleries, indie shops, and eateries.
